Introduction of Forum
In order to accelerate the construction of first-class medical colleges and medical disciplines, improve the talent training system of both training and introduction，we gather outstanding young medical innovative talents at home and abroad through the form of online cloud forum, promote medical academic exchanges and cooperation, and help build the Medical college with "World-class, Chinese characteristics, Shanghai style and SJTUSM specialty".
Invited object：
The applicant is generally under the age of 40 and have a doctoral degree and research experience from an internationally renowned university. The research field of the applicant accords with the development direction of medical college and has good development potential.
Sub-forum of Basic Medical Sciences
1. Forum Introduction
Sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, the 2022 Forum of Distinguished Young Scholar on Basic Medical Sciences is organized by the College of Basic Medical Sciences. This forum will focus on the international academic frontier and establish 7 discipline directions based on the existing discipline advantages and development trend of life science (Please check the introduction of each department), including Metabolism regulation, Precision pharmacology, Recent advances in basic and clinical immunology research, Peripheral tissue-brain interactions, Cell death and differentiation, Tumor classification and treatment, Reproduction and genetics & stem cell and developmental biology. Through academic exchanges and talent negotiations, we will gather outstanding young talents at home and abroad to create a better future for basic medical sciences.
2. Organizer Introduction
The former College of Basic Medical Sciences was the Basic Medical Department of Shanghai Second Medical University established in August 1955, then changed to the College of Basic Medical Sciences. In 2005, the college reformed to Shanghai Jiao Tong University College of Basic Medical Sciences through the powerful combination of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shanghai Second Medical University. It provides the foundation for medical teaching, scientific research and talent cultivation for Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
The college has 2 national “First-class” disciplines in Basic medical sciences and Pharmacy, 1 national key discipline in Pathology and pathophysiology, 4 key construction disciplines of “211 Project” by Ministry of Education in Medical molecular cell biology, Medical immunology, Pathology and pathophysiology, Genetic development and reproductive biology. There are 6 basic medical sciences disciplines of the college were selected as the top 1% of ESI global ranking. Please check the college website for more details.
