This discipline has a schooling length of 4 years, and the graduates are awarded of Bachelor of Science degree upon successful completion of teaching program. Pursuing the education philosophy “Equalized education of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetics and labor”, the discipline is characterized by in-depth fusion of theoretical teaching, clinical practice, and training of scientific research, and meanwhile complemented by curriculum module of general education, professional education, professional practices, and individualized education, eyeing on delivering a medicine-engineering cross curriculum cluster.

The objective is, tailoring to new calls of industrial upgrading, new technology applications, and talent standards in the field of medical imaging technology, to cultivate medicine-engineering interdisciplinary talents of imaging technology applications, who are suitable for medical and health care cause under the background of China’s new era socialism, with world vision and international competitiveness, and are capable of charting the development of China’s medical imaging technology.

The medical imaging technology discipline of SJTUSM garners a high academic reputation both domestic and abroad, and ranks the 4th nationwide in the “China’s Hospital Ranking” in recent 3 years. The discipline possesses a package of world-class medical imaging equipment, and has evolved discipline characteristics in clinical translation and applications of imaging technology of nerve system, digestion system, cardiovascular and osseous junction. In addition, the discipline also partakes in launching the SJTU-Ruijin-UIH Medical Imaging Advanced Research Institute, and opens medicine-engineering cross-disciplinary curriculum in conjunction with SJTU School of Biomedical Engineering, giving birth to a well-functioning mode for cross-school and cross-disciplinary cultivation of innovation talents.
