Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated bioinformatics postdoctoral research fellow (computational) to join our research group in Shanghai Institute of Immunology (SII) directed by Dr. Svetoslav Chakarov.
The research projects of the lab utilize cutting-edge interdisciplinary research approaches and aim to understand murine and human innate immune cells/stromal cells interactions during obesity and/or metabolic disease (such as NASH, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), liver fibrosis). Multiple novel inducible transgenic and gene targeting murine models, genome sequencing analysis, single-cell RNA-seq, single-cell ATAC-seq, Imaging Mass Cytometry (IMC) will be involved in the ongoing research projects.
Candidates will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing experimental protocols, data analysis and interpretation. As a postdoctoral researcher in the SII, candidates will develop several skills in immunobiology techniques and gain experience in writing and presenting scientific research in English.
【Postdoc Position】
Successful applicants will have a PhD or MD/PhD in Immunology, Biology, or computational biology, under 35 years old and expertise in one of the following areas:
Immunology (expertise in innate immunity)
Computational biology (strong quantitative background and interests in functional genomics including single-cell RNA-seq, single-cell ATAC-seq analysis)
For experimental Postdoctoral position: Rodent handling, Flow cytometry/cell sorting, tissue/cell cultures and imaging
【Bioinformatics Technician】
Have obtained a master's degree or above in computer, bioinformatics or related majors, under 35 years old.
Proficient in using relevant computer language.
Coding according to experimental requirements.
Be interested in immunology/biology/basic medicine.
Specific projects will be discussed with potential applicants depending on their field of expertise and interests. Projects are centred around several main themes: macrophage heterogeneity contribution to obesity and metabolic disease. Eosinophils crosstalk with their environment during metabolic diseases. Computational centred tools for integration of single-cell RNA-seq, single-cell ATAC-seq, single-cell protein expression and high dimensional spatial imaging.
