Songjiang Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (hereinafter referred to as the Research Institute) was officially established on July 28, 2022. It is a scientific research institution jointly established by Shanghai Songjiang District People's Government and Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. The first president is Academician Duan Shumin, and Professor Xu Tianle is the executive president. The Institute vigorously promotes institutional innovation, based on the research advantages of the "Brain Science Research Alliance" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and the "Brain Cognition Principle Analysis" innovation team of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission in the field of brain function and brain diseases. By undertaking the National Science and Technology Innovation 2030- "Brain Science and brain Research" major project and jointly building Songjiang Medical School affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (hereinafter referred to as Songjiang Hospital) as an opportunity to connect the "double first-class" construction of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and the "big health" strategy of Shanghai Jiao Tong University campus; Continuously improve the interdisciplinary, cross-department and cross-industry interdisciplinary system and mechanism, effectively promote the intersection of medical and industrial, and the deep integration of brain science with basic medicine (A+), clinical medicine (A+) and other superior disciplines, and create the Brain Science Plan 2.0 version of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. At the same time, it will help Songjiang Hospital develop in high quality, improve the level and level of regional medical services, and provide strong support for the construction of "Healthy Songjiang".
