Biography

Yiqun Wu graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University College of Stomatology in 2005 with a PhD degree. He began his professional career in the early 1990s as an oral surgeon in the Department of Oral Surgery, Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In the late 1990s, he began performing implant-related clinical practice in the Department of Oral Implantology, which is one of the first established professional, specialized departments focusing on implant dentistry in mainland China.

Yiqun Wu has retained a full-time position at Shanghai Jiao Tong University College of Stomatology for more than 20 years and is currently professor of Department of Oral Implantology and the Department Chair of the Second Dental Center, Ninth People’s Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is vice Chair and standing committee member of the Chinese Society of Oral Implantology.

Dr. Wu is very actively engaged in clinical and basic research in the field of implant dentistry as a primary investigator and research mentor for postgraduate students and residents. He has authored more than 100 scientific publications, and his work has been published in international peer-reviewed journals. He has obtained more than 10 national and international research grants. His interests and expertise focuses on the application of dynamic navigation and artificial intelligence in Implant Dentistry, as well as the pathogenic mechanism and treatment of congenital teeth missing.

Dr. Wu is currently Chair of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) China Section; ITI fellow and Chair of ITI Scholarship Center Shanghai. He is also the Director of training and exam program of Diploma in Implant and Prosthetic Dentistry (International), Royal College of Surgery (Edinburgh) and Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
