Biography

Prof.Hongchang Lai, director ofDept. oral & maxillofacial implantology, Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.His research focuses onbasic and clinical research related tooralimplantology, such as implant surface modification, periodontalregenerative medicine, drug delivery of peri-implantitis, hard or softtissueregenerationandtissue engineering.

He has been committed to clinical research in oral implantology for a long time and has led several international multi-center clinical studies, and has achieved many important results and technical breakthroughs. For example, he has published a decade-long RCT in the top journals of implantology, providing high-level evidence-based evidence on the difficult problem of "implant solution for maxillary atrophy posterior teeth". He has also pioneered new software and algorithms to accurately evaluate bone regeneration, and the result has been published as a cover article in top journals. And more than ten papers have been incorporated as references for the development of international clinical treatment guidelines.

He is the editor-in-chief of the Chinese edition of Clinical Oral Implants Research, the associate editor of Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, and the associate editor of The International Journal of Oral Implantology. He has published more than 90 papers in the top journals and has been listed in Elsevier's "Highly Cited Scholars in China" list in dentistry for six consecutive years.
