Biography
Dr. Min Ruan, the deputy director of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial–Head and Neck Oncology and the deputy director of the Teaching and Research Section of Oral and Maxillofacial–Head and Neck Oncology in the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong UniversitySchool of Medicine (National Center for Oral Medicine). As a visiting scholar, he has studied at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (NewYork, USA) and the MD-Anderson Cancer Center (Texas, USA) for one year. Dr. Ruan also serves as a member of the Standing Committee of Head and Neck Oncology of China Association of Cancer Control, a member of the Standing Committee of Head and Neck Oncology of China Medical Education Association, a member of the World Chinese Oncologists Association, and a young member of the Microsurgery Committee of Shanghai Medical Association.
Dr. Ruan's research focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial tumors. He has been engaged in the surgical treatment of oral and maxillofacial–head and neck tumors for nearly 18 years and led the team to complete nearly 6,000 general anesthesia operations for oral and maxillofacial tumors, including more than 2,000 Class III-IV operations, including more than 1,000 repair and reconstruction operations. Relying on the National Center for Oral Medicine and National Center for Clinical Medicine of Oral Diseases, focusing on the immune microenvironment of oral cancer,he has published 34 papers by the first or correspondent author and 24 papers included in SCI,including authoritative journals such as Cancer Letter, Oral oncology and Cancer Cell International. As an editor in chief, he edited two monographs (Course of Basic Theory and Operation of Oral and Maxillofacial Microsurgery; Skin flap pedicled with superficial circumflex iliac artery: oral and maxillofacial application). As the person in charge,he has successfully applied for four projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and more than 10 scientific research projects including those supported by the Shanghai Natural Science Foundation
What’s more, he has been awarded the title of "Pujiang Talent" in Shanghai, Shanghai Medical Garden Rising Star Talent Program, the outstanding young teacher of Shanghai Education Commission, the "Morning Star Scholar" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the "New Hundred Talents Program" of Shanghai Jiao Tong UniversitySchool of Medicine, Shangyao Xinglin's Talent Cultivation Award and "Top Ten Teachers" in the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine.
