Biography
Liu Chao, MD, PhD, postdoctoral fellow of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, visiting scholar of the University of Georgia, supervisor of postgraduates and deputy chief physician of Orthodontics Department of Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine; College of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, academic secretary of the Orthodontic Committee of Shanghai Stomatological Association, executive director of the Dental and Maxillofacial Medical Cosmetology Branch of China Plastic and Cosmetic Association.
Dr. Liu Chao, born in 1982, achieved Ph.D from the School of Stomatology of Shandong University in 2015. She engaged in postdoctoral research in the Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from September 2016 to June 2019. At present, she works as a deputy chief physician in the Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, and a postgraduate's supervisor in Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Shandong First Medical University.
She specializes in Orthodontics, pursuing the principle of light power and pursue the common improvement of facial aesthetics and health. Her expertise is the diagnosis and treatment of various dental and maxillofacial deformities, applying clear aligners and lingual brackets. She is skilled in orthodontic treatment in multidisciplinary comprehensive therapy, including Perio-Orthodontics, Orthognathic Surgery-Orthodontics, Early orthodontic treatment.
Her research fields include bioinformatics and epigenetics in the pathogenesis of oral diseases, constructing regulation network at the level of data mining, screening potential molecular markers and signal pathways, constructing disease regulation network by using bioinformation technology, and the important role and mechanism of epigenetic regulation in angiogenesis. Her research also focuses on clinical studies of orthodontic treatment and facial aesthetics through artificial intelligence (AI) In recent years, she has presided over or participated in 5 clinical research projects related to orthodontics, and presided over 3 national and provincial basic research projects, and has published 14 articles indexed by SCI as first or corresponding author.
