Biography

WU Beiwen is a doctoral graduate turtor. She currently serves as director of Party Committee Office, Chairman of Nursing Management Committee, of Ruijin Hospital, Medical School of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, President of the Shanghai Nursing Association, Member of tumor Professional Committee of Chinese Nursing Society.

In 1993,WU Beiwen graduated from Shanghai Second Medical university(majority in advanced nursing) earning her bachelor's degree of Medicine, then working in Ruijin Hospital. In 2009, she got her PhD in Doctor of Medicine from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. From 1993 to 2007, she successively served as nurse, head nurse of general surgery ward, Supervisor nurse of surgical department, associate director of surgical nursing education office, associate director of nursing department. In 2007, WU Beiwen acted as the associate dean of Shanghai Jiao Tong University school of nursing. During2007~2010, She cooperated with multi nursing schools in Shanghai,China,and actively participated in innovative education reform for nursing students. After that, she become the chief nurse of nursing department worked in Ruijin Hospital (2010-2018), Until 2018, she serves as director of Party Committee Office.

Since 2005, WU Beiwen has been committed to the research of anti-cancer supportive care, including paying attention to the hope level, nutritional status, symptom management and quality of life for cancer patients, especially focusing on the cancer patients' nutritional treatment care. She led the research team develop a nutritional assessment scale for cancer patients, carry out a mass survey of nutritional status, dietary intake, physical activity and quality of life for different tumor species, formulate the nutritional nursing plan for cancer patients. She organized nurses to carry out nutrition risk screening for hospitalized patients and implant nutrition risk screening-2002 into the patient care evaluation system from 2012. Therefore, Ruijin Hospital has become the lead of the earliest hospitals in which implementing nutrition risk screening for all inpatients by nurse in China. As the chairman of nursing group of Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition of Chinese Society(2018~2022), she led her team issue the expert consensus on improving the compliance of oral nutrition supplement to provide the malnourish patients with effectively nutrition support..

For her work, She won the 4th Shanghai Excellent Nurse, Shanghai New Long March Assault, National Health System Youth Position Expert, Shanghai 3rd "Zuoying" Nursing Award, Shanghai "May 1st" Labor Medal, Shanghai Outstanding Nursing Work, and national outstanding nursing workers.
