Shanghai-Sydney Joint Research Alliance Joint Bioengineering and Regenerative Medicine Lab is jointly established by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and University of Sydney in 2017. Professor Jiang Xinquan, Executive Dean of the College of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Professor Hala Zreiqat, Head of the Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Research Group at the University of Sydney, Australia, jointly serve as the head of the joint laboratory. The laboratory takes advantage of the National "Double First-Class" Disciplines, National Key Disciplines, National Key Clinical Specialties, National Center for Stomatology and National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases, Shanghai Key Laboratory of Stomatology, Shanghai Engineering Research Center of Advanced Dental Technology and Materials, focuses on the research and application of the regeneration and functional repair of soft and hard tissues defects in the oral and maxillofacial region, and promotes and maintains close international cooperation and exchanges through joint project application, cooperative publication of articles, mutual visits between teachers and students, etc. Professor Jiang's team and Professor Hala's team have cooperated for more than ten years, and have published a number of SCI papers together, including Biomaterials “2013 the Year in Images”. Team members from both sides jointly applied for and set up the 2019 SJTU Research Project Grants. Professor Jiang Xinquan is a Distinguished Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and was invited to be an Honorary Professor of the University of Sydney (Faculty of Engineering and IT) in Australia in 2012. Professor Hala Zreiqat was also invited as a guest visiting professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in 2014. The cooperation between the two has been highly recognized by the University of Sydney. In 2014, the President of the University of Sydney introduced the cooperation between Professor Hala and Professor Jiang Xinquan at a press conference in Shanghai.
