Wei-liu Qiu, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, member of the Academic Department of the Chinese Academy of Medical Science, born in October 1932 at Chengdu city, Sichuan Province, graduated from School of Stomatology, West China University of Medical Sciences in 1955. Prof. Qiu is current honorary Dean of School of Stomatology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Honorary Director of National Clinical Research Center for Oral Diseases. The former Honorary president of Head and Neck Tumor Surgery, China Anticancer Association (CACA), honorary president of Chinese Stomatological Association (CSA). Councilor of International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Fellow of International College of Dentists, International Association of Dental Research, American Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons.
Prof. Qiu is engaged in oral and maxillofacial surgery over 60 years, specializing in oral and maxillofacial tumor surgery, maxillofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery, and TMJ surgery. He was awarded 36 times were awarded a number of national prizes, shanghai municipality prizes, etc. More than 20 books were published as Editor-in-Chief and more than 400 scientific papers were published worldwide. Prof. Qiu honored to be awarded the highest honor of IAOMS——“The Distinguished Fellow Award” (2009).
