Who We Are:
SGH, with full name of School of Global Health, Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, is a sub-school under the Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, aiming to develop medical professionals with a global vision and to nurture future leaders in global health governance.
Established in Shanghai on June 16, 2019, SGH is co-sponsored by Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research. Co-sponsored by Chinese Center for Tropical Diseases Research, SGH has now developed strong partnerships with over 70 academic institutions in more than 30 countries.
What we Are Researching:
By advancing the discipline of global health, SGH contributes Chinese wisdom to building a Global Community of One Health in the following researches:
Ø Tropical diseases and emerging infectious diseases: control of tropical diseases; response to emerging infectious disease; pathogen ecology and epidemiology; control of Antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Ø Global health policies and standards: health system policies for tropical diseases control; technical standards for tropical diseases control; global health system reforms and evaluation; the impacts of global aging population and policies or standards.
Ø Global maternal and child health: reproductive health and birth defects control; prenatal care and newborn screening; the impacts of childhood health on adult diseases; early childhood development.
Ø Global nutrition and food security: global multicenter on nutrition intervention, health care management and strategy; monitoring, testing and assessment technology on food security, and standard database platform.
Ø Global mental health: field research, training and promotion of ICD-11 diagnostic guidelines for mental and behavioral disorders; mental health policies, legislation, regulations and standards; substance addiction; crisis intervention.
As a cross-regional education institution of global health and a center for interdisciplinary scholars working in different sectors to exchange their ideas, SGH will be home to world-class academics at home and abroad.
