From November 14 to 16, Vice Chancellor Zheng Junke, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, attended the annual academic forum organized by Fujita Health University in Nagoya. Zheng was invited to give a keynote speech at the "2024 Fujita University Summit."
The annual academic event, hosted by Fujita Health University, consisted of three main sections: Fujita International Cancer Research Symposium, Cancer Treatment Training Program, and 2024 Fujita University Summit. The theme of this year’s forum was "Cancer Science Research," with related academic exchanges and training programs focusing on topics such as stem cell malignancy, myelomonocytic cell malignancy, lymphocyte malignancy, and new technologies and methods. Approximately 200 experts and scholars from renowned medical institutions in the United States, China, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong China, and Japan participated and engaged in lively discussions. At the summit, Vice Chancellor Zheng delivered a speech on the topic of "Digital Healthcare and Artificial Intelligence," which attracted significant attention from the attendees.

During the event, Vice Chancellor Zheng visited the largest affiliated hospital of Fujita Health University, Fujita Health University Hospital, and engaged in extensive and in-depth exchanges with the Japanese side regarding international diagnostic and treatment services, innovative imaging technologies, and particularly the development of rehabilitation medicine. Vice Chancellor Zheng proposed that, building on the solid foundation of cooperation between Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and Fujita Health University, the two institutions should further strengthen collaboration in areas such as student training, scientific research, and innovation. He emphasized the need to leverage the strengths and advantages of both institutions to promote the continuous development of medical education and related research. During the meeting, Vice Chancellor Zheng also had close interactions with colleagues from institutions such as National University of Singapore, University of Malaya, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Chulalongkorn University, Seoul National University, Nagoya University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University, showcasing the willingness to collaborate and strengthen interactive exchanges.

Fujita Health University, located in the southern part of Nagoya, Japan's fourth-largest city, was established in 1964 and is Japan's top private medical university. Its affiliated hospital, Fujita Health University Hospital, has 1,376 beds, making it one of the largest hospitals in Japan by bed count. In research, the university has five specialized research centers focusing on psychiatric and neurological pathology, cancer genomics and medical care, regenerative medicine, infectious diseases, and medical sciences. Since 2023, Fujita Health University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine have established a collaborative relationship in areas such as basic research, scholar exchange, and professional cooperation.
